Ladies and Gents,
I have a slight problem! I have an electronic Purchase Form (designed in IP2010) and on the form is a drop down selector that is linked to a list of suppliers used by the company. Basically you select the supplier you want from the list - easy! However.... the guy in Purchasing wanted a new list, as the current one was out of date. So, we imported a new list in Sharepoint and amended the form.... now, we're stuck!
Firstly, when we amended the data connection to the list and then re-published the form, it kept on advising us that the form could not be opened as the data connection could not be retrieved. It also referenced the OLD data connection (As we had removed the old one and created a new one to the new list).
We managed to fix it by creating a new form library and publishing the form there... however, now we get the same error but it's referencing the form ID number (Again, the old data connection for the ID) as we created a new one as it was a new library.
Error:
InfoPath cannot open a new form.
The form cannot be opened. To fix this problem, contact the form designer.
Form template: http://servername/Purchasing/Purchase%20Requests/Forms/template.xsn
The query cannot be run for the following DataObject: Purchase Requisitions ID <<<<< (THIS IS THE OLD DATA CONNECTION)
The SOAP response indicates that an error occurred on the server:
Exception of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException' was thrown.
<detail><errorstring xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/">The system cannot find the file specified. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070002)</errorstring></detail>
We can then browse to the form template (locally) and open it... and we get this:
InfoPath cannot open a new form.
The form cannot be opened. To fix this problem, contact the form designer.
Form template: file:///C:\Users\branchja\Documents\InfoPath%20Projects\Forms\Purchase%20Request3.xsn
The query cannot be run for the following DataObject: Purchase Requests ID <<<<< (THIS IS THE NEW DATA CONNECTION)
The SOAP response indicates that an error occurred on the server:
Exception of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException' was thrown.
<detail><errorstring xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/">One or more field types are not installed properly. Go to the list settings page to delete these fields.</errorstring><errorcode xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/">0x81020014</errorcode></detail>
Strange thing is, we can preview the form ok and everything works on it.... but as soon as we try and open it from Sharepoint, we get errors!! So, how can we get rid of the old information??
Hopefully someone can help us!
Thanks all
James
