Issue with submitting data to sharepoint list

I've attached the xsn hoping that someone can help me out.

    Form Summary:

On the Requester view, the employee enters in the training courses that they wish to attend for the next fiscal year.  This requires 4 repeating tables (one for each different type of training).

The employee then clicks the Review button on that view so that they are taken to the EmployeeReview view where they review their choices and then can click the Submit for Supervisor Review button

Clicking this button submits the form to a SharePoint Form Library.  No qRules are used here.

SharePoint workflow send an email to the employees Supervisor who then goes out to the form and in the SupervisorReview view, they then click the Approve Requests button.

    Issue:

When the supervisor clicks the Approve Request button I have setup qRules to save the data from the repeating tables into a single SharePoint list called Class Roster.  None of the data ever gets submitted to that list.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi-

Can you temporarily display the QdabraRules Error, Success and Result node in the canvas? This will allow you to see if the command is returning any additional information when it is executed. Please let us know if doing this yields any additional information. Thank you.

Re: Issue with submitting data to sharepoint list

I added the fields and got an interesting result:

If I fill out the form in InfoPath it works correctly.  Result = success

If I fill out the form in InfoPath services (browser) it does not work.  Clicking the button does not seem to do anything and noting is displayed in the Error, Result, or Success fields.

We must be able to use the browser based forms from SharePoint 2010 since out employees have different versions of InfoPah (most with 2003) and would not be able to fill out a form based on 2010.

If you right click on the button that calls qRules, and then select "Properties" you should be able to look at the Postback settings. What are these set to?

The postback settings are only when necessary for correct rendering of the form (recommended).

Ok ... so I changed the postback setting because it seemed obvious that I should do so.  Then I ran the form (browser-based) and it actually started to do something when I clicked the button, however it did throw an error:

     Result:
    Success:  false
Error:  Failed to submit to SharePoint. URL = 'https://mysite/sites/hr/_vti_bin/lists.asmx'.

I enabled the postback settings and now when I click the button in the brower-based form I get the following errors

    Result:
    Success:  false
Error:  Failed to submit to SharePoint. URL = 'https://mysite/sites/hr/_vti_bin/lists.asmx'.

I've attached a text file with the relevant SharePoint log.

Re: Issue with submitting data to sharepoint list

Thanks for the additional info. In the error log I see reference to htps://mysite:443/sites/hr/_vti_bin/lists.asmx. In the error returned by qRules, we get https://mysite/sites/hr/_vti_bin/lists.asmx.

Are you able to open that URL in Internet Explorer? Can you try to see if there is a different with / without the :443 when opening the URL in IE? Thanks.

Yeah,  I am able to browse to https://mysite/sites/hr/_vti_bin/lists.asmx and https://mysite:443/sites/hr/_vti_bin/lists.asmx

I wonder why it works in the InfoPath client but not in a browser-based form.

    Thank you for your help.

When using SSL data connections, you must first configure SharePoint 2010 to trust the Root Certificate authority.  In Central Admin, Security, Manage Trust, add the certificate for the root certificate authority.  You will first need to export the certificate to import into SharePoint.

Re: Issue with submitting data to sharepoint list

What is odd to me is that the URL in the log and returned by qRules is pointed to "mysite" at all. Your form mapping and data connections are pointed to a different site all together. Or did you change the template?

Re: Issue with submitting data to sharepoint list

I changed the URL to "mysite" to try to hide our real URL from the public search engines that may be scanning your site.  Also, I've made a few changes to the form in general since I first attached it.  I've attached a new copy.  I hope that these changes have not broken the form.

Re: Issue with submitting data to sharepoint list

Oh, got it - it just confused me. Makes sense. I don't see anything wrong. What I usually suspect for qRules issues in the browser but not the client are that 1) postback is not set (which you corrected) or 2) the ListCollection node in the mapping has a namespace (that is an issue that is ShP 2010 browser specific and I can see that your mapping has no namespace prefix on the ListCollection node).

I'll get your email from the membership list and send you an updated copy of your form later today that should give us more info to debug with (it may be pretty close to the end of the day before I have a chance to do this tho).

We're very excited that if we can get this to work it would be our first web-based form and will automate a few manual processes.  We do appreciate any help you can provide.  Please let me know if you have any questions about the template.
