Filter Data Connection When checkbox Selected

I have an Infopath form with a dropdown. It is populated from an external data source. If the user checks a checkbox on the form, I want the drop down list to show a different data set.

When the user hit the page they get the list where fieldX=1. When they check the box, I want the list to show items regardless of the value of fieldX. I've been wrestling with this for awhile!

for a lact of a better you are trying to create cascading results, correct? which may be the way you need to go. perhaps you could have a hidden choice field. this hidden field could be changed based on user interaction. the second field (or the field you are trying to filter) will return results based on the hidden field. that should solve your issue.

    Kind regards,

Ok, so I tried this. I can get the query to work when the value is 0, but not 1. Why would that be? 1 is the default value.

I set the filter to equal the field value. So when the field equals 0, the dropdown should display items where columnX=0. Likewise when the field equals 1, the dropdown should display items where columnX=1. Currently it works when the field = 0, bit not when it equals 1. Would browser compatibility setting have anything to do with this? I will check that next.

Does this work in preview but not in browser? If so, the issue is probably postback (or some other browser related issue) but if it doesn't work in preview the issue will be with the logic in your filter. Are you using IP 2010? Filters in drop down lists are not supported in IP 2007 browser forms....

It does not work in preview. Also I am using IP 2007. The filter works when the value is 0. Seems like it should either work or not work, not based on the value of the field.

Can you attach a copy of your form in the Options tab so I can see what you have for the filter?

I don't know how to do that, but basically in the drop down filter dialog box I set the filter to equal fieldX.
