Custom Validation for Infopath 2010 Browser based form

We are designing Infopath 2010 browser based form. How do I modify the default Validation Error message which pops up when a user submits the form missing the required fields. The current message is not very friendly for novice user. How do I achieve red dashed border around the missed fields?

    Thanks

You would need to add data validation to the individual fields you would like to verify. Have you tried this?

If you're talking about blank required fields, then those will have a red asterix, not a red dashed border.

You could also disable the submit button if certain fields are not filled out, forcing the user to continue filling out the form.

As far as the "default Validation Error message which pops up", can you clarify what that is? Perhaps attach a screenshot using the Options tab when you reply. Thanks.

The message tells you that a required field is blank. Is that field not labeled with a red asterix?

As I said before, you could add conditional formatting to disable the submit button if required fields are not filled out, forcing the user to continue filling out the form.

     ErnestoM,

I accomplished this using the same approach . Now the users are not able to click on submit until they fill out required fields.

    Thanks

ErnestoM, sorry to jump in so late. Could you elaborate on this for me? I have a form with multiple views. View 1 has 15 fields that are all required. View 2 and 3 do not have any views. My aim is to disable the 'goto page 2' button on View 1 if ANY fields are blank/empty. I added these 15 fields into a group and have the condition where if group is blank, disable this control. It doesn't work though. Any ideas? Thanks, Chris

Do you know a way to check if there are validation errors without reconfiguring validation for each field?

I want to disable the Submit button until everythign is validated, but I don't want to recreate all the validation rules that are already set in each field/control. Is there some sort of flag stored in infopath that lets you know that a validation error currently exists (like isValidated = false)?

i'm currently looking on how to customize the error message as what snehalrana wanted to do. I have too many controls to be set if to only enable the submit button when the control is validated. Anyone can help?
