Hi,

I need to know how to limit the size of the text box in info path 2003 and also allow paragraph breaks in the same text box. Is there any way to do both for a same text box 

(choose this in the first box)"The expression"     (This goes in the second)  "string-length(.) > 500"  ((Set 500 to whatever character limit))

 basically in your condition set it like this:

"The expression"     "string-length(.) > 500"  (and change 500 to whatever you want)

Thanks for the quick reply. But the thing is if the character length is exceeds still user has able to type on the text box.Can we stop the typing

Greg Collins blogged a technique a while back where you can automatically move them to the next field when the limit is reached and the next field. That might help you.

I don't know any other way to do this. Certainly, you can't do it while the person is typing without writing a special ActiveX control or something.
