    Problem with qRules insert command

I have been using the insert command with some success. In many instances the repeating group node that I’m copying to gets into a state where the insert command continuously fails and I get the message of "Failed to insert the child node." Even when I strip the group node of all its child nodes and remove any binding to it, I still get this error. I know that the problem is not from my insert function. As soon as I delete the repeating group node and re-add it, the problem goes away. It is frustrating to have to restart every so often when the group node gets to this state. I have not been able to pinpoint what step is causing this problem. This even occurred while I followed your blog tutorial of how to use the insert rule.

Please let me know if you have observed such behavior. If so, what steps I have to take in order to fix it.

    Hi:

What do you mean by "remove any binding to it"?

I think what you are saying is that you use the insert command repeatedly on the same parent node, and in certain circumstance, the command will fail repeatedly.

Do you have a sample of a form where this happens? If it isn't something you can attach to a reply to this post, you'll find the email address for support in the back of your qRules user guide....

Having reviewed your forms, I think the issue is your data structure. Your repeating group you are using the Insert command on is in the root node. As you work on your form and add more items to your data source, that node is no longer at the end of the tree -- and Insert will try to insert at the end of the parent. If your parent is your root node, and the child you are inserting is not the last node in the schema, we'd expect that to fail. Nesting your group inside another node should resolve that.
