Using Infopath 2007

 I have a repeating section with a drop down list created from a sql server table.

 The table is in the form below.

dept_id    dept_name
1              IT
2              Maintenance
3              Security

The form is populated by dept_id and displays dept_name.

 I would like that when a second section is chosen the drop down will not display the choice from the first drop down list box.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Just add a filter to the data set. Go into the dropdown listbox properties and select the display name to show and there should be a filter button there that allows you to filter.

 I am still unclear what I need to filter on.

The problem still exists as is illustrated in the screenshot below. In this example, when a second section is selected, IT should not be visible.

To clarify, this filter should be applied to the drop down listbox properties and not the repeating section properties?

The only place that I can see to filter on this is the button to the right of the entries input box.

The full string in entries is /dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/d:dept_list[@dept_name]

What would be the appropriate filter to apply in this case?

I am new to Infopath so please forgive me if I am missing something very obvious.
