Need help formatting in simpleType text box

IP newbie here! I have scoured the internet to try to find some way to do this...unsuccessfully. Here is my long-winded scenario:

I am building an IP 2010 form for my inspectors to use in the field, connected to an intricate sql database (not going through SharePoint for data transfer, but the form will live on our SharePoint site for "checkout"). The violation table needs to be in a repeating section because facilities can have 0 to umpteen violations. There is a Description field in the violation table where the inspectors write what is wrong and where they quote the regulation that is being violated (getting to the point here...). The inspectors will connect to our portal to search out the regulation to copy and paste into the form. Most of the regulations are in regular "wording" (i.e. Reference number followed by a description), but some parts of the regulation are in a table format (i.e. a cage size of x can have y number of cats in it, etc.). I can't figure out how to allow them to copy and paste the table so that it formats properly in the Description text box - it just puts all of the words and numbers together. I have tried to add a rich text box, but for some reason it won't allow me to because of the repeating thing, and I did find that rich text boxes can't be bound to databases. Any ideas out there? I'd even be willing to have them copy and paste into something before they paste it into IP, as long as it formats the table correctly.

    Thanks!!!

I wish I had an answer for you -- but I don't. At least not if you have a database bound form. If you use DBXL (or your own custom web service) to submit your data, you'd be able to save the rich text to your DB, then even use it in reporting....

Thanks for the information. I'll look at the web service solution with my IT guys. I pretty much figured that it would not be very possible, anyway :)
