using sharepoint library in infopath forms

    hi

i have sharepoint 2007 and infopath 2007 installed...

i have an access database that is imported to sharepoint... right now i have designed a form template and applied it to site collection so it could be used in browser...

i want to use the information that i have imported to be mapped to infopath template specifically and add a separate .xml form for each of the imported records...

i could use all the imported data in my template from data source in infopath and add an repeating table so all data will fill in the forms but this will just occupy one .xml form with 100 records... i want records to be shown specifically in separate forms

i appreciate any kind of ideas... thanks

    Hi Amvvv,

We don't do much Access. To pull your records into your XML forms I think you have 2 options:

    1. Batch create the XMLs in advance
    2. Query the database when the form loads (or when the user selects a value from a dropdown)

The first option (#1) is going to require some custom coding. Qdabra (sponsor of this site) provides an Excel to XML tool to import data to SharePoint but it doesn't handle Access. However, you could expoert Access data to Excel and then import. Seems like a lot of work though and not necessarily fail-safe. Other techniques would involve custom programming.

The second option (#2) requires changing your InfoPath Form Template to query the row. This is a good option of you have <100 records (since you can manually go through and load/edit/save).

Both options will work. Question is a) how many records/rows you got, and b) can you query the imported Access data via a data connectoin query call?

Re: using sharepoint library in infopath forms

     i have about 1500 records:)

i have imported my access data base to sharepoint site so i think i'm not involved in access work anymore and it's an infopath-sharepoint connection...

so what do u think... and by the way my company doesn't give me anymore funds so i'm not able to purchase any more software at all and i'm stuck to my current belongings

ps. thanks for the quick reply mate
