Infopath form data submits succesfully, but SharePoint form library remains empty.

    Hi there

I've spent some time trawling through the forums trying to find an answer, so apologies if this has already been answered (but let me know where please!).

This is for Infopath 2003 & SharePoint 2007

I have successfully set up a Receive data connection in Infopath, and can pull data down to the form from lists on my Sharepoint site.

The problem is sending data back the other way. I have set up a Submit data connection, and promoted several columns from my Infopath form (that is, I have set the form library columns in both Form Options and in the Publish Form wizard). The columns from my Infopath form now appear as (uneditable) columns in my SharePoint form library. I have published the form to the same url as the SharePoint form library that the data connection links to. When I create an instance of the form from SharePoint, I can edit the form data and receive a successful notification on clicking submit.

But nothing else happens - the form library is empty. If I then manually save the form to the SharePoint library (I set the form not to close automatically after submission), it appears in the form library as expected. I thought that this is what 'submitting' the form was supposed to do????

Any help is very gratefully received - I've spent a whole day mucking about with this and am getting a bit frustrated.

    Thanks!

I think your set up might be incorrect, if I have understood it correctly. It sounds like you're trying to receive and then submit, but that's not how a form library works.

    Try the following:

    1. Create the form library

    2. Create your form and add a connection such that it submits to the form library created in step 1.

    3. In the form library, click New, fill out the form and submit.

    4. Refresh the form library to see the new doc appear.

    5. Click the doc to open it, modify it, then submit again.
