Populating a field only when another is checked-RUSH

I am creating a form that calculates the travel advance amount based on the data entered into other fields.  I go the calculation working (and rounding up thanks to you guys) but now I was wondering if there was a way for that particular field to only populate the calculation total if a "yes, I need a travel advance" check box is checked, and not to populate if the the:"no, I do not need a travel advance" check bos is checked. I have tried the "rule" but can't seem to get this to work out right.  Any suggestions?

    Hi Lyndsey,

Just add a condition to the rule, select the field and say is equal to the value you want to check before you run the calculation.

Patrick, I am sorry, but I am not understanding.  I have added a rule that states that Field 14 (which is the field with the calcualtion) is equal to Field79 (the option box)?

    Hi again,

Well, you should change your schema fields to be descriptive names (don't use Field 14, but instead a description about what the field is; for example, "PerformCalc").

You want to add a condition for Field79 only - check whether or not it is a given value and if so, perform an action to set Field14. Does that make sense?

We have an InfoPath End User training class coming up in 3 weeks. If you have budget to do training, I highly recommend it.

    More after you respond,
