Show field based on value of another field

    Hello,

Running InfoPath 2010 and SP 2010 and this will be a browser based form.

Basically, I have a drop down list and depending on what is selected, a new drop down list needs to be displayed with options relating to the first selection. The first drop down is a list of Project teams, depending on what they chose another drop down would appear with a list of available classes for that Project team. I'm thinking that this needs to be done with views, but I can’t figure out how to switch the view based on the value of the first drop down list.

Does anyone have any insight on how I would do the rules for this? Or, if I’m going about this the wrong way... any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Steve

I tried to do this with cascading dropdowns by following this post:

    http://koobarspoint.blogspot.com/2010/06/cascading-drop-downs-with-infopath-2010.html

However, even though the author states that this is for Browser based forms, infopath throws a warning saying that filtering is not available with browser based forms. Does anyone have a better way to do this in a browser based form with cascading drop downs, that doesn’t require making a web service in VS?

Ok, I figured this out finally (using the blog post mentioned above, works pretty slick as well!)... Well at least until the next section of the form. Which brings me back to my original question, albeit modified a bit.

In this section of the Questionnaire the user is asked to rate his experience from 1 to 5. Anything 3 or below needs to open a new required multiline text box asking them to explain what the problem was with their experience.

Any Ideas? Is there anyone looking at this today? lol

    Thanks, Steve
