Precede Leave Policy with "accept" before the leave Form

    Hey All,

I've got a new question.  Hoping I can get some guidance here.  I'm trying to setup our leave policy ahead of the leave form.  We want to make sure that all employees accept the terms of the agreement and have it recorded before they fill out the leave form and submit it for approval.  Current employees have filled out  paper forms and signed them already, but for future growth, we'd like to switch to a paperless solution and go electronic.  I'd appreciate any help with this,

    Sincerely, Ramy

In InfoPath, one way to do this is to have a checkbox that the users have to check to enable the submit button. The checkbox is connected to your terms/policy, such as "I have read the policy and accept it". The user checks the checkbox and then the submit button becomes enabled, so that the user can submit.

    Is this an acceptable solution?

How would I connect the checkbox to the policy? That for example "click here" to read the policy" and then a redirect back to the check box? Through a redirect for example? This might be an easy question, except all of this stuff is new to me.  I'm grateful for the help.

You can have two options: o Show Policy  o Hide Policy

When the user checks Show Policy, a hidden section becomes visible. This section contains the policy text.

The user then can check Hide policy to hide the section.

Then the checkbox saying "I accept the policy" , which enables the Submit button.

    Good luck!

Great idea! One question though, so how would I record this acceptance? For example if I accepted the policy, It'd be good to record it and then have to do it only once? I know I'm extending the conversation more than it originally started, but this is really important to the organization and my skillsets are still growing in this field.

I'm not sure I understand your question. The checkbox has two options: checked (true) and unchecked (false). You can check the value of that field in the xml. If the value is true, then you have a record that the user checked it (thus accepted). This is per XML, and not per user, of course.
