    Email Query

    Hi All,

i have a infopath form that is setup to submit to a document library for an ordering process. i have set up rules that send out an email as well as submit into the document library within sharepoint when submit is selected.

The email that is sent provides a copy of the form however the format of the form is fine when submitted however in the email it appears too large and formatted is disjointed. is there any way of changing how the form is displayed within the email data connection?

ive checked a few settings particularly sending the form as an attachment but that doesnt change how awful it looks within the email.

     Any thoughts?

Someone who is not using InfoPath will never get exactly what you see in InfoPath. Sadly, email clients distort the view, each in their own way, some more and some less.

One recommendation is to create two sections: one for filling out the form and one for sending email. These two sections are controlled by the value of a boolean field. The boolean field is FALSE by default. When the user clicks submit, the boolean field is changed to TRUE. The "filling out" section is shown by default but hidden when the boolean field = TRUE. The "emailing section" is hidden by default but shown when the boolean field = FALSE.

Result: this allows you to have two sections with different designs in your form. One gets used for filling out, and the other is sent out in email. This allows you to play around with the spacing and layout of the "email section" until it looks acceptable in the email that is received.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks for replying,

Sadly they need to have the entire form emailed them as they have to authorise the ordering of the equipment.

any other ideas? although the one you have suggested will work for another of my projects thanks!
