Promoted Fields not getting promoted to Sharepoint

    Hi,

Got a problem that has me stumped for the last few days.  Been working with a few of you on this one.

Got a form that uses QRules, meaning it is required to be Administrator Approved.  Well as I noticed, one of my fields has not been getting populated.   This may be due to a duplicate although after reviewing the 1.)Sharepoint list 2.) the form Data Source and looking at a XML form file submitted to a Form library, I have not found a duplicate.   I changed the data connection on the form to test on Test library.  Form worked but again that one field did not receive data ALTHOUGH when i open the form, the value that i selected in the dropdown list is still there.............

Okay so then i keep looking around and noticed that some new fields I added to my form did not get promoted to the sharepoint list which makes no sense.  So my question ON TOP of the above issue, is why would my new fields not be promoted although while going through the wizard, I CLEARLY added them to the list of fields to be promoted.  I initially thought that maybe i just update the content type.  So I went to do that by going through the wizard, and selecting Site Content Type (advanced) and as i go through the wizard, it ask for the "specify a location and file name.........." well with Administrator Approved forms, one saves/publishes the file to their local and CA does their part.......  So I am at a stand still.

Why are these Administrator Approved form not promoting the new fields although they are clearly in my list of fields to be promoted?

     thank you

Did a little more investigating of the wizard....... Noticed

1.) At first this form did not contain any code or rules.... i published it to a form library and all fields promoted

2.) Although i assumed i Published this form through our CA many times, the new fields i added do not show up ALTHOUGH as stated earlier, the are in the wizard for columns to be promoted to the sharepoint library.

3.) For the fields that successfully promoted, they say:

Site Column Group = Microsoft Office Infopath

and for the new fields, they still say:

Site Column Group  = (None: Create new column in this library)

and they do not show up in the Sharepoint list........ so this makes me wonder, what is going on with Administrator Approved forms that my new fields are not getting promoted as requested through the wizard???

I believe most of the issue is resolved.  Through process of elimination, discovered that the Central Administrator was simply uploading the form only.  Stated that others told him the form would update the site on its own....

The proper steps for uploading a updated or new form:

    1. Deactivate previous form (if exist).
    2. Delete previous form (if exist).
    3. Upload new form.
    4. Activate new form.

Save you some headaches from wondering why promoted fields are really promoted to the sharepoint list as requested.

Sorry for posting a month after the last, but I do have something to offer.

If a user uploads a form, you can get Sharepoint to show the Promoted Fields. (Works on Sharepoint Server 2007, not sure about others)

When you are viewing the Form Library, if you change the view to Explorer View, and let each item load where you see its Icon as InfoPath, Sharepoint scans them for Promoted Fields and updates itself.  I have had to use it a few times when someone request a new Promoted Field to show up in Sharepoint.  Works great when you have a few hundred forms.
