QuerySharepoint web service for site userlist

I can navigate to the web service URL w/o problem.  When I enter the URL for the data connection, I am prompted for a authentication (see attatched image).

    http://hscsbidev2:38790/QWS0407/QuerySharePoint.asmx?WSDL

    http://hscsbidev2:1105/_catalogs/users

    <query><columns><column name='ID'/><column name='ContentType'/><column name='ImnName'/><column name='Department'/><column name='Name'/><column name='EMail'/><column name='Title'/></columns></query>

Created a Data Source with the above, when I run, I get the following error:

The query cannot be run for the following DataObject: GetListItemsStr
InfoPath cannot run the specified query.
The SOAP response indicates that an error occurred on the server:

System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. ---> System.UriFormatException: Invalid URI: The URI is empty.

I'm not sure why you're getting an authentication prompt, but are you using a rule to set the listUrl parameter in the data source before you run it?  The error suggests that value is blank.

for ListURL I am using:  http://hscsbidev2:1105/_catalogs/users  ; works in Qdabra Query Builder.xsn

I re-entered the List URL and Query values in the data source and now it seems to work.  i.e. entries are sticking.

I am still getting the prompt box when modifying the data source?

Is the syntax / option for the "Query Option" field documented?  What is this used for?

     Thanks,

    Hi Marzipan,

Query Builder is an installed Full Trust form so it will behave a little differently than a Domain Trust form. Most likely you have a cross-domain issue (see first bullet below).

Some random things to check which may have no bearing on the issue but I thought I'd mention anyway:

    • Is the URL to http://hscsbidev2:1105/ on a separate server?
      • If so, can you navigate to the URL from your browser and does it show Local Intranet in the status bar at the bottom of the browser (and not Internet)?
      • If not, it's likely a local hop issue. InfoPath forms published locally or previewed have more restricted permissions than Domain published forms. Try publishing to a domain server and see if you have the same issue.
    • Is your machine joined to a domain? If not, this could explain why you are having a cross domain issue adding the data source to InfoPath Designer.

We still need to respond regarding your syntax question. Is that question regarding Query Builder or InfoPath Designer data connections dialog?

    Thanks!

InfoPath Designer data connections for this web service.

           <listUrl>string</listUrl>
          <query>string</query>
<queryOptions>string</queryOptions>   ??? is there documenation on available options and syntax?

    Hi!

Here is the QuerySharePoint user manual: http://www.infopathdev.com/files/folders/integration_with_sharepoint/entry65674.aspx

And here is a step by step tutorial: http://www.infopathdev.com/files/folders/integration_with_sharepoint/entry65673.aspx

Hope these help. Let us know if they don't. Thanks!
