A Qdabra eventlog gets created during installation.  Are there any error messages in there?

    Hi Adam,

Can you please go to the event viewer for the SharePoint server where you are insalling DBXL and open up the Qdabra log.

In there you should see an error that corresponds to the 2869, if you paste in the full error message we should be able to direct you to a resolution.  Thanks

    Ted

I received the same error while installing the software on the server. The error message did not provide any help to resolve the issue. What is the resolution? It created database and app pool. Did not create the admin site. Server is Windows 2003 SP2/IIS6

    Re: Error 2869 when installing

    Hi,

We'll be glad to help you get the software installed. The 2869 error by itself won't point to the root cause of the failure. However, there should be additional information recorded in the machine's eventvwr which will allow us to narrow down the issue. In addition to looking in the log called Qdabra, please also look in the Application log. Any warnings or errors recorded during the installation attempt might be worth looking at.

Also, please let us know the following:

    • Does the server have SharePoint installed?
      • If so, is DBXL being installed to the SharePoint - 80 site?
    • Is SQL located on the same machine or on a remote machine? Are you using Windows Authentication or SQL Authentication?
Thank you for the additional information!

    Re: Error 2869 when installing

I encountered this error message when installing the latest version on my development domain and the issue was caused with the application pool account not having access to the SQL Server database.  For me, it seemed to fail at the bootstrapping phase.

    Re: Error 2869 when installing

Thank you for your quick reply. There are no errors or warnings recorded during the installation in the application event log. But few seconds after the installation failed, the following info is recorded. PS: Please see my answers at the bottom for your questions. The description for Event ID ( 11001 ) in Source ( MsiInstaller ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Product: Qdabra Database Accelerator v2.4 -- Error 1001. The installation failed, and the rollback has been performed. --> An error occurred configuring system doctypes. See the Qdabra eventlog for details., (NULL), (NULL), (NULL). 1. Yes, the server has sharepoint 2007 installed and QDabra is being installed on Sharepoint:80 site as there were no other options found from the drop down. 2. SQL is located on a different machine. Remote connections are enable on the SQL server and using Windows authentication. As I mentioned earlier, databases were created.

skoonadi, my guess is that the account you are installing DBXL with does not have sysadmin permissions on the target SQL server on that other machine.  Can you check that?

    Re: Error 2869 when installing

I reviewed the installation, and the problem was that the installation was on the disabled 'Default Web Site'.  Re-attempting the install on the 'SharePoint - 80' site worked without error.

During installation, the first tab of the installation dialog will show the site selected at the top of the page.  If a different site is shown at that point, you can cancel the installation and restart setup.
