How is your form setup? What I would do is have the fields I want to disable in their own section (separate from the dropdown you require a selection from). Then you can right click the section with the fields that should be disabled, go to conditional formatting and select if dropdown box is empty then hide this control. Once they make a selection the fields will appear.
