    Data in a merged form - problem

    Hello,

    I'm relatively new to Infopath but so far i've picked it up fairly quickly.
    However i'm now toying around with the merge data function and i'm having trouble designing a form that will specifically record merged data in the form that I desire.
    My form stores data that stores information on new clients.
    The XML produced by this form would look like this.....

    <myFields>
    <newCustomerForm>
    <employeeNo>0001</employeeNo>
    <customerDetails>
    <custName>John</custName>
    <custAge>25</custAge>
    </customerDetails>
    <customerDetails>
    <custName>Fred</custName>
    <custAge>28</custAge>
    </customerDetails>
    </newCustomerForm>
    </myFields>

    To explain the Infopath form it stores the employee number of the person filling in this form and then a repeating section for each new customer to enter into the system.

    The problem i'm having is that when I merge multiple produced forms that are stored in a sharepoint form library, the data isn't group quite as i'd expect.

    Say I have two forms that are both filled out by employee 0001 I get the following xml produced as part of the merge:

    <myFields>
    <newCustomerForm>
    <employeeNo>0001</employeeNo>
    <customerDetails>
    <custName>John</custName>
    <custAge>25</custAge>
    </customerDetails>
    <customerDetails>
    <custName>Fred</custName>
    <custAge>28</custAge>
    </customerDetails>
    </newCustomerForm>
    <newCustomerForm>
    <employeeNo>0001</employeeNo>
    <customerDetails>
    <custName>Billy</custName>
    <custAge>20</custAge>
    </customerDetails>
    <customerDetails>
    <custName>Dan</custName>
    <custAge>19</custAge>
    </customerDetails>
    </newCustomerForm>
    </myFields>

    This isn't how I expected the merge to look. I expected it to recognise that employee 0001 had filled out both forms and had so grouped his data together to produce XML that looked like this:

    <myFields>
    <newCustomerForm>
    <employeeNo>0001</employeeNo>
    <customerDetails>
    <custName>John</custName>
    <custAge>25</custAge>
    </customerDetails>
    <customerDetails>
    <custName>Fred</custName>
    <custAge>28</custAge>
    </customerDetails>
    <customerDetails>
    <custName>Billy</custName>
    <custAge>20</custAge>
    </customerDetails>
    <customerDetails>
    <custName>Dan</custName>
    <custAge>19</custAge>
    </customerDetails>
    </newCustomerForm>
    </myFields>

    The general layout of the infopath form is like so:
    Everything is stored within a "Table with Title"
    Theres explanatory text underneath that and then there is a "section" that contains the form.
    The form consists of a text box for employee number and a "repeating section" for each customer's details.

    Is what I'm expecting actualy possible?
    If so can anyone see what i'm doing wrong with my infopath form?

    Many Thanks
