Strange symptom with SubmitToDBXL - QRules 2.3

    Hi

I am using qRules version 2.3

I am using SubmitToDBXL and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't

I have been investigating and have found that on the occasions it doesn't work I get the error message  An error has occurred executing the rule. Invalid command specified:

The command I am sending is the same in all cases

     concat("SubmitToDbxl /doctype=NewSKURequest /submit=FirstSubmit /name=", my:SKUDescriptionGroup/my:CalculatedDescription, " /author=", my:RequestorGroup/my:GenericPeopleGroup/my:DisplayName, " /desc=", my:SKUIntroductionGroup/my:RequestSummary)

On the occasions that the SubmitToDBXL fails the description (held in RequestSummary) is multi line and has line breaks in it.  If I delete the linebreak from the RequestSummary the command works fine.

If I submit using a dataconnection and use the same field (RequestSummary with Line breaks) as the description in my document type - there is no problem.

I don't know if I have found a feature which you have updated with the new version of qRules.  But if not it may be worth putting some information in the User guide that the desc cannot have linebreaks in it.

    Hi Catharine,

This problem is addressed in the upcoming release of qRules.   As you have found, the command breaks when the content in one of the fields you are concatenating has line breaks, or other text that may confuse the command parser (e.g. a command option within the text).

To resolve this, we have added support for specifying an xpath for the input fields.  Please let us know if you would like to get a pre-release version for testing.
