Hi
I am using 2007. I have a form which users fill in and then require a print. The printed form is HUGE - 2 sides of A3. I have set up 2 views one for data entry and one for the print. I have a print button linked to a line of code Me.Print(true) which allows the user to select the printer and print. This all works well.
The user has 2 additional requirements.
1- If the Form is in Draft (a status I hold about the form), they would like the form to be printed out but the background to have a "watermark" of Draft.
I assume I could use a background image for the "watermark". Can I change the background image in code prior to printing ? Or do I have to have 2 print views ? If I have to have 2 print views how do I ensure that the correct one is printed ?
2- Each print out needs to be numbered. Taking form1 as an example. The first time it is printed the print out should have a number form1-1, the second time it is printed it should have a number form1-2
The form has a unique ID (Many thanks to Hilary for her "Fun with Sequential Form IDs, SQL and Sprocs!" article). For the "print number" I could increment a number on the form each time the print button is used but - is there any way of stopping the user selecting the "number of copies" when printing ?
What would you recommend for ensuring that each print out has the form id + a print number ?
