    What did I do wrong??

    Hi,

I'm attemptting to get a fairly basic form to work on my sharepoint site as a test. I've followed all the given steps and it works fine on my pc. However i've just tried it on a colleagues and I get the 'can not open form' error. I'm assuming that this might be a permissions issue but i'm not sure.

These are the steps I followed:

    1 - Created a 'browser enabled form'.

2 - Created a form library in my sharepoint site.

3 - Created a data connection to submit the form to the library.

4 - Published the form to the library (as a document library)

5 - Set up an approval workflow with myself as the only approver

6 - Changed the library settings to open form in a web browser

7 - Copied the xsn location of the form template

8 - Created a new page with web parts

9 - Added the 'Infopath XML Form Viewer' web part

10 - Editted the web part to include the xsn location.

    11 - Published page.

Like I said, everything works fine for me however my colleague wasn't able to view the form. I checked and she has 'restricted read access' to the form library.

    Any ideas?

It definitely sounds like a permissions issue. "Restricted read access" might not be enough, and you'll need to compare your permissions and the other users' permissions to discover what permissions may be missing.

Another thought is whether the user can open the form from the original location, i.e. the form library, instead of via the web part.

Another suggestion is to change the library settings to force the form to open in the client instead of the browser. Then ask the user to open the form. The error message might be more meaningful. Good luck.
