I hope someone out there can help me

I have 10 Libraries with  5  identical Content types in each of them

I accidentally uploaded a new form over an existing Content type.  Now of course  when the user clicks the form  he gets the wrong form.  

I though,  no worries,  I will just  upload the correct form back to the content type.    Not working. 

My template library still shows the wrong form template,  and all my content type forms in each library are still pulling the erroneous form.   I have uploaded (published)   a few times,  but  it wont rectify.

Further more,   all the copies of the previously filled out forms wont open,    and I get the    "This form was created with a new version of he  form template.  Infopath cannot find the new version.  Do you want to open with the older version."   If I say yes,  I get the further message.  "Infopath cannot open the following file:  http:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.xml   The form contains schema validation errors.

    OUCH.     

 I suppose I could just restore from a backup  but I really want to know why I cant fix it by re-uploading the original template to the Content Type.  

If anyone out there can help me,  I would really appreciate it

 hello Paddy,

first republish the form, then upload the form. if that doesn't solve the problem,  set the version number of your old template by opening the old template it design mode

go to tools -> form options -> versioning and update the version number manually and then republish the form, upload it again and it should work.

I know this thread is old, but I had a similar issue recently and followed Qazi's recommendations. The versioning on the old template was higher than on the new template. So I manually adjusted the version and everything is working now. Hooray! THANK YOU!
