Save Button in the middle of form

I don't know why I have not run into this before. If I have my submit set to "now()" and I go back to edit the form and hit submit again it creates a new form. I guess that makes sense, so is there away in a browser enabled form to have a Button placed in the middle of the form to just save it. I guess the users don't like the option of having them at the top and bottom of the form so I need to create the button to do it. I tried using the "Update Form" option, but that doesn't seem to do anything.

Hi, I suggest that you add a field and set the default value of this field with the function now() after that you modify your submit and set it with this field instead of Now(). If you do that you just create one form eventough you have submited it many times.

I agree that is the intial way to set this up, but they have over a thousand forms now and they already have a process in place where they select certain fields that are choices. It wasn't until now when the approvers would go back in and change those fields making a new form. If a save button can't be done as an additional button please let me know. I don't think there is a way in browser enabled forms, but I thought I would check with the people in this forum before I go back and tell them they need to re-do how they do things.

I don't want to change the scop of this post, but wouldn't that field with Now() change everytime you open the form? Maybe ping personally on that one.

If you uncheck "Update this value...." it doesn't change anytime you open the form.

The problem is you use directly the function now() on your submit, so you just can't make any change on an existing form. With codes you can certainly do something, but I'm not certain you want to go on that way.

I can't find the "Update this value..." That might work for us. Can it be done to a Text field? I'm using InfoPath 2010.

You can find this option on the properties of a field wich have some calculated default value on 2010 it's "refresh value when formula is recalculated"

I guess that isn't going to work, but I really like that for groups just starting out.
