Receiving a critical error when trying to add a new document type

I've been adding new document types to an existing instance of the database accelerator without a problem, but am now receiving an error which is preventing me from adding any more.  I enter the name of the document type - e.g. test - and click on save.  I then get a dialogue box saying: Could not determine the Document Type ID, aborting query.

Click on OK and I get another box saying: An unhandled exception occurred while calling the SetDocumentType method.  I9999: An unhandled exception was thrown: Unable to read beyond the end of the stream

The event log on the server has the following error:

DbxlDocumentService.SetDocumentType encountered a critical error and needs attention:

    User: ???\zzzzzzxxxzzzz

    Url: /QdabraWebService/DbxlDocumentService.asmx

System.IO.EndOfStreamException: Unable to read beyond the end of the stream.

Rebooted server and didn't seem to make any difference, but now seems fine.  Not sure whether any pending updates have knocked something out, as I've been having problems with some of the other servers this morning?

Are you trying to save the new document type without attaching an XSN?  If so, that's probably the problem.

    Hi Ged,

I forgot if you are using v2.3 or v2.4.  We have a recent update in v2.4 which fixes an issue with XSN processing that may help if you run into this again.

    Hi Jim,

We're currently running v2.4, but could be that the first reply was correct and the XSN was missing.
