    Infopath 2010 Publishing

    Hi,

I have created a new 2010 form, based on an older functioning 2007 version.  When I publish the form to a Form Library and request "Create a New Form Library" as my option it all works fine.  If I then do any change to that form and try to republish it by using the "Update the form template in an existing form library', I get the following error:

Infopath cannot save the following form: http://servername.....  This document library was either
renamed or deleted, or network problem are preventing the file from being saved. If this problem persists, contact your administrator.

I can find solutions for this error on different sites, but it does not seem to quite fit the problem I have.

    Any help, would be appreciated.

    Hi and welcome:

I'm not sure about the error either - I have not encountered this myself. As a workaround, InfoPath has a new useful feature that allows you quickly publish your form template in just one click. You'll see this under the File tab - it's called "Quick Publish". So after you've initially published your form to a new SharePoint library for example, you can just click on this button and it will instantly update the form template in that form library. Go ahead and give that a try and let me know if the method still throws an error.

    Cheers!

    Hi Mel,

Thanks for the heads up, but that does not work either.  I am still getting the same error.

If you go to your SharePoint library in Internet Explorer, do you see the New button? Does it have an option to create a "New Document"? Also, if you click on Settings > Form Library Settings >  Advanced Settings (under the General section), what do you have in the Template URL field?

    Mel,

I do have the option to create a "New Document".  And my template URL is "Employee Leads/Forms/template.xsn".  The settings seem to be the same as my other libraries.

    Cheers

    Re: Infopath 2010 Publishing

    Hi Mel,

I have checked the system logs and nothing seems strange.  I have compared the entries between this form and another that was created directly in 2010, and the log entries are very similar

When I copied this form from the 2007 version, I was accessing a different domain.  So some of my data connections were actually not correct.

When I published my form, I published it to a library called "Lead".  I have deleted this library on a number of occassions, so obviously there was often a version in the recycle bin.

When I noticed this publishing log entry problem, I published it to a library called "Leads".   I have now tried multiple publishes and NO error.

This does not really make sense, but now it works, so go figure.  I will mark this as the correct solution, after I hear back from you.

    Regards.
