    Change Request Form [Infopath]

    Hello Experts,

I am very new to Infopath so I need help of you guys to complete this requirement. I need to create a Change Request form in Infopath having the following functionallity.

I need to change the existing flow as per the SDLC flow. We have three environments 1. Test-APP, 2. UAT, 3. Production. I need to create only one infopath form where users can go through this flow.

In order to complete this change in Production, one has to go through the Test-App and UAT first. So, user will be creating CR for Test-App first and when that will completed and passed the testing then only user should be able to raise it for UAT and so on for production but all that needs to complete in one Change request infopath form.

I have created a basic infopath form with all the required fields for all of the three environments but I am not sure with logic of enabling users to do it for test-app first and then UAT and then Production.

Any kind of help will be really really appreciable and suggestions to any other change requests tool will also be helpful.

     Thanks,

    G Kapoor

    Hi G Kapoor,

It sounds like what you need to do is to have 3 different views for the different environments.  When the steps in the first environment is completed then the form opens up in the view for the next environment etc.  You can use on load rules to change the view when the form opens based upon the step where the form is.

Users would probably need some sort of way to "roll back" to a previous view if they made a mistake (so some sort of "admin view" might be nice to have).

You could even go so far as adding some nice graphics at the top of the form that shows where the form is in the process.  Bascially you would use conditional formatting depending upon the status of the CR to show the right image for where the form is in the process.

Hope that helps get you started!

    Ted
