    need clarification - submitting forms

Hello, probably my question is simple, but I coudn't find clear explanation/answer to my doubts.

The question is: is it possible with Infopath to submit forms to sharepoint site from extranet, without VPN solution? What are possible solutions to submit forms data from extranet Infopath users: are web services, direct database connections necessary?

    Hi Noob,
If the SharePoint site is externally visible your users can use Basic authentication to sign in and submit forms. Obviously, the SharePoint site must be externally visible. Web services and direct DB connections are also solutions, but not required.

Re: need clarification - submitting forms

Firstly, thank you very much for reply:)

The only problem with submitting forms from extranet is implementation of authentication and InfoPath uses HTTP or HTTPS as a transport layer do send data. Am I correct?

And one another question: is only Basic authentication supported from InfoPath? Or are other ways of auth. possible to implement with IP SDK and coding in .NET?

    Thanks :)
