How can i activate the new people picker field once i have added the username

I am creating a form where i am populating a people picker with the logged on user. This is fine but how can i then activate the control to get it to lookup the display name and account type.

I am using a rule to set the AccountID field to be the Username function available in rules. Then on the form you have to click on the tick icon to finish the lookup. This is the bit i want to automate.

I also have c# code running in the background so am happy using .NET code to do this.

    Thanks

    Hi Paul,

The People Picker is a special control but you should still be able to set a rule on it and trigger some actions based on input. Of course, the user filling out the form will have to tab out of the field to have the rule fire. If that is unacceptable, why not just use your own fields to populate users from Active Directory? We've got lots of blogs on how to do that using our Web Service. Probably a way to hook into People Picker too, but I don't know offhand. Worth looking at the object model in Visual Studio though. Maybe there are some methods and properties on the People Picker OnAfter change method. ...

    Sorry couldn't be more enlightening,

    Hi Patrick,

I have the same issue, you mentioned we can use AD to populate user from Active Directory, could you give us some hint how to start doing it.

    Regards,
