    infopath form imported to Access

I am using Access 2003 to create a database and a user interface (data entry form) for the database. Instead of using Access to create my form, is it possible to use InfoPath and import the form to Access using it as my user interface? If this is possible, how do I do it?

It might be possible but why not just create the form in infopath and then link it to the Access database for submission and retrieval of information. Thats how I'm doing it and it works well.

The benefit of using Infopath includes the ability to submit to a form library, web service or email as well as the database when creating or editing records. Also, infopath allows people to fill out the form when offline and submit to a remote database.

However the downside is, Infopath is unable to handle long data types. That is, if you need to input memo, hyperlinks, or picture data types, Infopath will not submit to the database. This can sometimes be a major and bewildering limitation

I agree Jay, I initially wanted to store mail objects in Access and eventhough access has an onject type for fields it doesn't work. :-(

Thank you Jay for the information. Since I have memos and pictures in my database, I think I'll stick to using Access to create the form.

    Thanks, Chantel.

For long data types, why not just roundtrip a BASE64 string representing the data type? We roundtrip images and rich text to SQL all the time. I don't understand this long data type limitation. Is this something peculiar to Access?

I am not sure what you mean by roundtrip. But it is mentioned in the Microsoft developer network that Infopath has a limitation. It only likes text (char) field up to 255 characters. Nothing more. It didn't seem access specific.
