I have a form (designed in InfoPath 2007) that is submitting to a SharePoint document library. The form also receives data from several lists within our SharePoint site. We are using Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 that is hosted by a third party (our company does not utilize a server, so we do not have AD or a local SharePoint site). Our company has decided that only managers should have access to SharePoint, but we require staff members to submit the forms.
Essentially, I need a solution that allows a staff member to connect the form to SharePoint without a username and password.
I had a theory that I might be able to pull off this feat by putting a manager's username and password into data fields in the form, and utilizing a Loading Event to have the form auto-authenticate with our WSS3 site on load.
Am I way off the mark? Is something like that possible? Or is there a better solution?
If it is possible, I'd really need some help with this. I am very, very new to Visual Basic, and don't know how to do any coding. If someone could offer me a step-by-step instruction, I would be eternally grateful.
