Hi friends,
I am facing a strange problem with RTF control.
I have formatted data in RTF control.On basis of date entered/changed in some other field(Date Picker field) ,this date entered needs to be appended at a particular location in the Formatted data of the RTF control.

When i try to do this using Replace & find function which i have written ,logically it works fine but the Fomatting is lost and all the data comes in a single font uniformly.

Can you please tell me how do i preserve formatting using any other method ?
Or is it not possible to preserve formatting in RTF field in Infopath ?

Hi,

For do this you have to use XHTML tag !

The best to understand how to do is put only a rich text box in a new form write and making the formatting that you need and see what you have in your richtextbox (the tag that have entered by infopath in the xml) and after make the same things for your form!

Can you throw more light on the solution you gave because frankly speaking i didnt undersand it.

I guess i have not put my issue properly.Sorry for that.

My problem is brief is : When i append the RTF data on some event of some other control ,the "Formatting getting lost" in this scenario.


So please help me to map ur answer to my issue.

Hi,

I work one the same issue but I didnt have found yet!

But when you make a formatting in a date field the formatting is only on UI it's not store in the xml!

But for a RTF it's different the formatting is made with XHTML (the formatting is store in the xml) so put the XHTML tag that you need for your formating with the field that you want copy in your RTF and the game is over!;-)

It's why I say make a new form with only a RTF and fill out this form with different formatting and sentences and see what you have in your xml file!
