    How do I launch an InfoPath form from inside C# Web Service...

    Hello,

     I'm currently trying to launch a blank form based on a .xsn file from with a C# web service and I was wondering if anybody would know the proper way to do this. I was assuming it would be something like the following after reading the Microsoft documentation:

     ExternalApplication infoPath = new ExternalApplicationClass();
    // Open an InfoPath form.
    infoPath.Open(@"C:\My Forms\Form.xsn", 1);

     I get an error in Visual Studio: Interop type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.InfoPath.ExternalApplicationClass' cannot be embedded. Use the applicable interface instead.

     Could anyone here provide guidance on how to do this? It would be MUCH appreciated.

    Hi CJordan,

    Web services typically run on Web servers, so launching InfoPath makes no sense at all since the server computer typically does not have Office installed.

    If you are running the Web service locally on a client machine, you can launch it via InfoPath directly using the New From Solution action in an InfoPath rule.

    Sorry to rain on your coding parade but your design pattern makes no sense.

    Good luck!
