Hello all,
I was contacted for the following issue:
Submitting an InfoPath form, filled out with the InfoPath 2007 client to a forms library in a MOSS (SharePoint 2007 environment), anyone should be able to submit a form.
The form contains some fields that should be promoted to SharePoint columns.
The form and library were created and when a user was added to the forms library with the contributor level everything was working.
However since anybody should be able to publish a form to the library and nothing else the business requested a new permission level. This permission level got following characteristics:
List permissions:
- Add Items
- View Items
Site permissions:
- View pages
- Open
When using this custom permission level upon submitting we receive following error:
"InfoPath cannot submit the form."
"An error occurred while the form was being submitted."
"The form cannot be submitted to he following location: <valid path + nmae of form>"
"Server error: Access Denied."
[HOWEVER the form is published to the forms library and the sharepoint columns are populated with the values from form]!!
I found out that adding the "edit right" to the custom permission level solves the problem when submitting the form but that brings me to another problem ...
people should not be able to edit/change forms that were posted in that library or if it can not be helped they should only be able to see and edit their own form ... How can this be achieved hench we are using a forms library?
Summary:
Is this problem caused by property promotion (in other words do you need edit permission to make a submit possible?
Submit happens by a rule to the form library.
The form trust is put on automatic and is not digitally signed.
There is place reserved to digital sign the form.
If someone got any idea, shout, thank you :)
