    problems with connection to access

    Hi!

I started using Infopath recently and found it interesting...

I have been trying to make a "page" where we can have updated info from our various projects in our organisation.

Problem now is that we use AD and i dont know how to take the connection to the database to other people in the organisation.

Problem i get with this is that the server is called different things depending on who and where you are located in AD. this means that the connection will look for the database in the wrong place.

Is there any way to just say to infopath that the database i want you to connect to is located in this very folder and not make it look for a server name or anything like that?

    Thanks in advance!

well what ever your server is called it will always have a unique IP address try using that instead of using server name.

sorry it took some time for me to respond, been out of the country....

I thought of that but it seems our IT Department isnt willing to share the IP numbers for our servers, and they have locked it so i cant get the numbers either.

     Any other ideas?

just ping the server and it will give you the ip.
