I received the following error when installing the Qdabra Database Accelerator v2.3 on an XP machine.

The installation failed and the rollback has been performed. --> Exitcode: 3  C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.20727\aspnet_regiis.exe -sn "w#svc/1/Root/QdabraWebService"

I searched for the exit code but couldn't find anything on line.  Any assistance would be appreciated.

This problem arises when ASP.NET has not been registered with IIS (which happens when .NET 2.0 is installed before IIS).

To remedy this problem, run aspnet_regiis.exe -i found in C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\(Version)\

Please let us know if this solves the issue.

You might want to consider downloading the DBXL v2.4 trial, which is now available on qdabra.com.

Couldn't find aspnet_regiis.exe -i  But did find aspnet_regiis.exe and ran that.  Same error.

Downloaded DBXL v2.4 install failed with same error.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. The command to run from the command line is:

>aspnet_regiis.exe -i

I'm making progress - Now the error says

An error occurred configuring system doctypes.  See the Qdabra eventlog for details.

I haven't been able to locate that eventlog or find a solution through the release notes.  Any suggestions?

This refers to the Event Viewer (eventvwr) on the machine where DBXL is being installed. There should be a Qdabra entry in it, but there may be information in the Application log. Can you check? Thanks!

Your eventlog indicates you are using SSL for the site (https://machinename).  If you open IE on the server and browse to the site, does it give you an certificate error message? 

If you intend to use SSL, you will need to make sure you have a matching certificate.  If you are installing to a SharePoint site that uses a host header (e.g. www.mydomain.com), you will need to specify the hostname during installation.
