Open Completed form in another site in browser

I tried to search for the answer to this question, but I could not find any results.

If I plublish a form to a site, and add it as a content type to a form library, I can fill out that form in the browser from that particular for library. If I submit that form to the same form library that I am filling it out in, I can then view the completed form in the browser.

However, I need to be able to submit the form to a library on another sharepoint site. I can do this, but when I view the completed form on the second site it wants to open it in Infopath form filler instead of the browser. Does anybody know how I can make it open in the browser?

I've confirmed the setting for that form library to display forms in the browser, but that doesn't seem to change anything.

     Any input would be appreciated.

Are both sites on the same machine? InfoPath Form Services (IPFS) inject the URL for the form template into the completed XML file. Open the XML in notepad and you can see the href attribute at the top of the form. If this href points to a location that is not on the same server, my *guess* is that IPFS isn't going to run it because that XSN isn't on the box where IPFS is.

One simple workaround is to create a copy of the XSN on the new site and relink the forms to it, but to do that you may have to make sure they are in a Form Library and that the XSN is published not as a Content Type but rather as a Form Library Template.

That's all I can think of. However, if the sites are on the same server, there may be some SharePoint admin config options that will allow viewing cross-site. Worth googling if your situation is multiple sites on a single server.
