    Problems with Contact Selector

    Hello..

I'm facing two problems with a contact selector control on InfoPath 2007.

1st - I want to put only users in the control. I know this is possible on InfoPath 2010, but is there a way (or a workaround) to do that with InfoPath 2007? I Googled and Binged it, but didn't find anything.

2nd - My save button has a conditional formatting to disable if the contact selector is blank. The problem is when I put something that is not an user (like "aaa", for example). A dialog is opened, but if I cancel it, the "aaa" does not disappear, and the save button is still enabled (the attached images will help to understand). I wish I could disable the save button if there's something in the contact selector that is not an user ("aaa"), or I want the contact selector to doesn't accept anything but users (or users/groups). Any idea?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Selarim

    Re: Problems with Contact Selector

Please, I need these answers (ever the answer is "you can't do that on InfoPath 2007")..

    Thanks...

You can't control what is typed in the Contact Selector field. If you need that kind of control, you should look at Qdabra's Contact Selector XTP which only allows users to select valid Active Directory names.

Thank you for the answer, Patrick. But I solved the problem (with Cobb's help).

Glad to hear you got it fixed! Clayton Cobb has a good website and we have worked with him before. The contact selector has limitations but should serve most needs. Let us know if you have any further questions, or go bug Cobb! :)
