    Problems with InfoPath Forms Services

hi all, i'm new here, i'm also beginner in InfoPath and SharePoint Technologies. i'm using the MOSS 2007 platform (Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007) to implement a small module WorkFlow. i'm using infopath for forms. and i just want to publish it to my sharepoint site to be able to open it with the browser. the problem is, while publishing the form model, the checkbox "Enable this form to be filled out by using a browser" is gray (disabled and i cannot check it) so i can't enable the form to be filled out using browser. Other problem, i have to fill out an input box called "UserName" bye the username of the user who's creating and filling the form can nayone help me? i'm really in need of help, it's been a while i'm searching for any answer thanks for all Edit : i'm having also this error message This form template is browser-enabled, but it can not be browser-enabled on the selected site. Possible reasons: 1 - The server is not running InfoPath Forms Services. 2 - The functionality required is not available in the collection sites. 3 - The policy setting the server does not allow users to activate the form templates for the browser. PS:Sorry for bad translation, i'm working in french version and i translated the message with google translate xd

Re: Problems with InfoPath Forms Services

    Hello,

    1) Getting the userID; Read the article on the link below and you should have your solution:

    http://blogs.microsoft.co.il/blogs/itaysk/archive/2007/04/05/InfoPath-_2D00_-Get-the-current-user-without-writing-code.aspx

    2) Enabling your form for usage in the brower:

I do not have SP or Infopath installation on my current (this) machine, so i can't verify this; but i believe you should be able to make your form browser enabled, under 'form options' using the Tools-Tab in the form's menu.

     Hope this helps.

Possible reasons: 1 - The server is not running InfoPath Forms Services. 2 - The functionality required is not available in the collection sites. 3 - The policy setting the server does not allow users to activate the form templates for the browser.

    alright,

Error messages 1 & 2 doesn't really apply because you have a MOSS installation.

Try Changing the form's trust level to  'domain' or 'full trust'. In this particular case, I think changing the trust level to 'Domain' should solve the problem. See if it helps.

Re: Problems with InfoPath Forms Services

Well, if you have the Enterprise edition of MOSS (trial version) installation, then you dont have to install a seperate form server. But if you have the Standard edition of MOSS (trial version) installed, then you'd have to install the form server seperately, however i do not know if you can obtain a trial version for the form server (you should run some searches about that...and see what you can dig up.).

    My suggestion,

    1. (if you have an Enterprise edition of MOSS) on your machine, is that you create a new form with just one OR two controls and try publishing it the way you want (as a test.), if you're successfull then you should build your main form again and re-publish it.

    2. Check your central admin to make sure form service is configured:
          'Configure InfoPath Forms Services'

    1. Go to Central Administration.

    2. In the navigation bar, click the Application Management tab.

    3. On the Application Management page, in the InfoPath Forms Services
section, click Configure InfoPath Form Services.

    4. On the Configure InfoPath Forms Services page, in the User
Browser-enabled Form Templates section, you can choose settings that
determine how user form templates are processed by InfoPath Forms Services.

Sorry, i don't know what else could be a solution at this point. But, i hope my suggestions can help.
