InfoPath Dev

Today a workflow for one of my forms started sending the email associated with the workflow out twice. Each email goes at at the same time, say 10:52 AM, but one of the emails actually contains data from fields on the form but the other one doesn't.

 For example:

Email 1

 Requestor Name: John Doe

Email 2

Requestor Name:            (this area is blank but it should include data from a field in the form).

I've delete all workflows associated with this site and rebuilt the entire workflow but it is still happening.

What triggers the workflow? Did anything change in your form library or form prior to this behavior's start?

All the SharePoint forums I have found are dead. Nobody really posts there.

Nothing changed prior to this that I'm aware of. The workflow is triggered when a new infopath form in submitted.

I just tried publishing the same form to another library on the same site and creating a similar workflow to see what happens. Same problem.

Originally there was only one email coming out with no form data in it. So I deleted all the workflows and created them again. Now I just get one email that works (has form data) and another one that doesn't (have form data).

So, that makes it seem like it might be an issue with the form -- since you've recreated the workflow, and you've also tried with a different library. This is a dumb question, I know, but is there any way the form is getting submitted more than once? I guess if that were the case, you'd have data in both email....I know a really savvy SharePoint guy who is also an InfoPath MVP -- I'm going to email him a link to this thread, see if he has any ideas.

The problem seemed to go away after an update and server reboot. Thanks for all your help! :-)

Lenovo, you found the SharePoint forums on MSDN to be dead?  Those forums are extremely active and heavily monitored by both MSFT employees and MVPs + community contributors.  At the same time, InfoPathDev is the premier place for InfoPath answers, but not so much for SharePoint Designer questions.  I recommend using the MSDN SharePoint Workflow forum (pre-2010) or the SharePoint Designer 2010 forum (2010 only).  I answer in both forums just about daily, but I spend more time in the 2010 area.  You can always contact me directly as well.

Anyway, Hilary contacted me to see if I could help, but it looks like you "fixed" it with a reboot?  That really should not be the "fix," so I would be pretty nervous about considering it a closed issue, because it may happen again.
