Programatically created InfoPath form boolean and datetime field values not set

I am creating a form programatically, using the xsd.exe tool. However, setting the value for Boolean fields (represented by checkboxes on the form) does not set the checked state of the checkbox on the form. It does not even get created in the final xml for the form. Somehow it seems as if boolean and date fields are just skipped. Are there any properties that i need to set? And what is the relevance of the ...Specified property (e.g. chkIsMarriedSpecified)?

try string values - for dates use 'yyyy-mm-dd', for boolean try 'true' 'false' (or whatever your checkbox uses for checked/unchecked values.

    I'm guessing a little - never used exd.exe
