InfoPath Dev

I have a solution that is using InfoPath with SP1 heavy. it was coded BEFORE SP1 was released and has lots of customization code in template.xsn. I am looking for a list of top tips/tricks to enhance performance. Note all the data being retrieved is stored in SharePoint (WSS).

1. One main tip is donot show too much of data in the UI at one point of time.

2. Donot have too many rules in the form.
3. Try to avoid onafterchange events on repeating elememts.
4. Try to avoid too much of contitional formatting.
5. If you have too much of data to be shown make it into tabs instead of showing all at a time.
A normal Infopath form should not have more than two pages of data in a single view.

6. If you have repeating data that crosses 20rows, use custom paging.

There are lot many like this, we will come up with a Tips/Tricks document this weekend, this should be available on the site by monday.

I think that Agni is referring to splitting your data into separate Views. Then, you can add buttons at the top of your form to switch Views and give the feeling of "Tabs".
