I recently administratively deployed a new version of a browser based form that has some new fields and sections in it. My form library has ~20K forms in it. When I open an old form through the library, the form is automatically updated and contains the new fields.
However, I do not want to open 20K forms to have their XML updated. Am I missing something in the upgrade process of the template, or some easy programatic way to force this update to the individual forms in the library?
The why I am doing this: I programatically update data in the forms based on massive CSV file uploads from our suppliers, and would rather the fields and sections always be there, and not have to worry about adding them on the fly. I would prefer to handle things this way, up front, rather than making my event logic on the CSV file processing more complex.
