    About Digital Signature Validation

    Hi.

I was curious to know when does infopath exactly validate signatures.
What I mean is does it validate the existing signatures on form load?
Or does it have any particular event for it.

The reason is that I have to add a node to the infopath form after i obtain the form from the database and before i stream it on the ASP.Net page.
And as soon as that form opens up in infopath i have to make a check with the node's value and then strip of that node before infopath validates signature and throws signature invalid event.

    Thanks
    Niraj

    Hi Niraj,
InfoPath does this when it opens the form before OnLoad code is called. I don't think there's a way to intercept it. You can't strip it out before InfoPath opens because InfoPath checksums the signature to the XML and it would no longer match which would cause failure to open. You might be able to launch InfoPath with the /aggregate switch and send the form to it and then have some OnMergeRequest logic strip it out, but then what's the value of signing it in the first place?
