    Is it possible to auto-number a repeating section (without coding)?

     Hi,

     My form has a repeating section and I'd like each occurrence to incrementally auto-number itself.  Any ideas how to do this codelessly?

     Thanks,

    Steve

    Create a ID field, and add a default value to it as below:

    count(preceding-sibling::<SectionName>)+1

     Aruna,

    Your equation didn't work in this instance.  My repeating section has other sections nested within it. Any other suggestions out there?

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Could you be more specific about how you want the numbering to work?

     Jimmy,

     My form is fairly large and complex.  It has several sections (Start section, Ticket section, Task(s) section, Steps section, and Printout section). Each section has multiple nested sections. A single work ticket can have multiple tasks. What I'm trying to do is to auto-number the Task(s) sections as they are added by the user.  If you think you can solve my dilemma, I'd be happy to email a copy to you . . .

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hello All,

    I found an answer.  Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;}

    count(../preceding-sibling::*/my:Index_Count) +1

    Thanks for pitching in.

    Steve
