    Looking for a simpler method

Hello, I've come here seeking a bit of assistance. I've been using Infopath for a month or two now and have been doing things my own way. It'd probably help if I read a book/received training on Infopath, but alas I haven't yet. Anywho, here is my issue.

I have a form I'm working on with multiple views (6 or so). Each view has around 100 Pass/Fail (true/false) radio buttons on it. When you select a radio button with the value of False, it shows a Section (we'll call it Section1) below it with more information in it (likewise True hides this Section, by default they are all on True). Within Section1, there is a Checkbox labeled Show/Hide and another Section (Section2). If you uncheck the Show/Hide Checkbox, it hides Section2. Within Section2 is some more data (a Checkbox or two and a text box).

Now as you can imagine, that is a lot of Controls to create for each view. Is there an easier way of doing this? I've been manually creating each control and adding in the necessary data so far. I'm not above coding anything, but would rather avoid too much of it. Mostly because I'm not sure if the person who works on this next (I'm sure there will be corrections needed to be made as stuff gets updated) knows how to code.

    I appreciate any assistance given.

    Thankya,
    John Lee Bunting

P.S. If ya'll need me to doodle up a visual, I can.

I don't think coding will lend any help to this problem.  I would suggest using a repeating section, disabling the ability to add and remove rows, and setting the number of rows and displayed text using the form's default values.  Please see the attached form to see what I mean.

Thank you very much for the reply!

I tried your idea and enjoy the ease of it, but I have a problem; within one of the sections I need to have a variable amount of checkboxes (0-2 usually), and am currently unaware how to fit that into the whole repeating fields idea. IE. when I add a checkbox into the repeating section, it puts that same checkbox into them all (obviously since it is repeating...) I understand if I use text fields, I can individually manage the text in each repeating section. Is there a similar method to handling the checkboxes?

    Thanks,

Might you attach a mockup of what you have in mind?

Here is an example of how I've been doing it. With the repeating tables I can easily format it like the example I attached, put in the Pass/Fail radio buttons, put in both sections, and the show/hide checkbox. The only downside is that I want to be able to have a variable amount of checkboxes in each Pass/Fail scenario. Hopefully this example will help better explain what I desire.

    Thank you,

Might something like this be more like it?  I didn't include the Pass/Fail radio button, and it should probably have a Section control around the Show/Hide checkbox to hide it when there are no extra details, but this should give you the general idea.

Ah ha! After tinkering with this for a bit, wasn't quite sure how you got it to work like that, I was able to mimic what you did and it works perfectly. As of right now this is working exactly as needed, just need to test uploading the forms to Sharepoint.

Thank you very much for all of your assistance Jimmy.
