HI friends,
I am using a "Master-Detail" relationship.
The Master& Detail are repeating tables.
The Master & Detail are linked by "Key" Field in Detail Repeating table.

This relation is working fine except for one xml file.
For this particular file ,when i click from one row to any other row in master table ,the Infopath application CRASHES and CLOSES the application giving the following error message
"Microsoft Office InfoPath has encountered a problem and needs to close.We are sorry for the inconvenience."


To be more specific this data file is not essentially different from the data file that gets Infopath crashing.This file has few images and other common textual data other than that there is no difference.

I also tried this on various computers ,but the result is same -Infopath crashes for this file.

Can anyone please tell me what is causing the problem ?

Hi Amish, we had a similar issue in one of our projetcs.
If there is too much data that gets changed when you select the master control row, then InfoPath dies. As you said that this specific file has more amount of data(pictures). This is a bug in a tool that InfoPath uses to render data. Our guys said that it is a "Trident" issue.

Microsoft has a hot fix for this issue, i dont know this is out in the MSOffice's latest update.

Actually there is not much textual data ,but yes there are around 7 to 8 pictures in the xml file.

Is there any workaround for this ?

I would apprecaite if you can please tell me in which Office Update is this patch fix supplied by Microsoft as this is a very critical issue for us ?

Also it would be nice if you get a word of advice from Microsoft team for a work around on this.

Hi Amish,
Microsoft has a hotfix for this bug, but you'll have to contact them directly. My guess is that the hotfix will be relesaed to the public in a month or so. Here's more information:http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;893371
