Making a preceding sibling in a repeating section read-only

    Hi,

I have a repeating section in my web-enabled form that has a field called Migration_Date.  Each time a new section is added and the most recent Migration_Date field is populated, I want the preceding sibling of that field to become Read-Only.  Is this possible with a web-enabled form?  I've tried conditional formatting on that field but have only been successful in making the current sibling read-only.

Add a field to your repeating group that gets set to the count as it's default value. Then, create a rule that compares this hidden field to the Count function on the the group and makes the field read-only if it's not equal.

Hi Patrick - Thanks for getting back to me.  Unfortunately, I'm a little confused.  The field I am trying make read-only is called Migration_Date.  The name of my repeating section is called 'MyRepeatingGroup'.  Per your suggestion, I have created a hidden field called Count_Migration_Date.  I set its default value to Count(Migration_Date).  Is this correct?  As for the rule, should it be a 'Conditional Formatting' rule on the Migration_Date field where I compare Count_Migration_Date to Count(MyRepeatingGroup), and if they are unequal, check the 'Read-Only' checkbox?

I don't think this is correct because it is not working.  Any more guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated!
