Hello all,

Does anyone know of a way to make a field masked with the dot symbol in Infopath, like the password field that is used to post a new comment here? Thanks in advance!

InfoPath does not come with a password control. Since this functionality is not available in InfoPath, you can set the font of the field to Webdings or WingDings to simulate masking the input as they are entered.

You can also take the password in a custom task pane using the <input type="password"> HTML element.

Hi

Its a good idea, But suppose   if user try to right click and copy the field value, he should not be able to do that,

for that purpose copy and paste should be disabled ? how we can do this in infopath textbox

 

Again password can get easily hacked as each character represents one symbol

how to avoid this?

Can you try with this in taskpan html file:

<input type="password" name="tbPassword" id="tbPassword" size="16" oncopy="return false" onpaste="return false" oncut="return false">

 But taskpanes are not supported by browser enabled form.

Is there any other alternative?

Task pane will not support for browser enabled forms.

For browser-compatible form template, you should publish the HTML files to a site that is accessible to your users, preferably the same Web site where your form template is located, and create a static hyperlink in your form template that points to the external HTML file.
