Hello Everyone,

This is my first post in this forum and hope some of you can sort out my issue.

I designed an Infopath form which has a Repeating Table bound to a Secondary Datasource. The Repeating table contains a textbox and a dropdown. So it displays all the rows perfectly fine.

And later I added an Optional Section in the Repeating table below the Dropdown column. The Optional Section has to be displayed only when the first value from dropdown  is selected. So I used the conditional formatting to hide the control and also selected the first radio button in 'Optional Section' properties to insert the optional section by default. But when I check it in preview mode and select the first option, the optional section doesn't show up.

So I want to clariy one thing - Is it not showing becoz the Optional Section ( which is bound to Main datasource ) is inserted in a Repeating Table (which is bound to Secondary datasource) ?

or Is there any other way to implement it? I need to have this Optional Section shown depending on wat I select from dropdown menu.

The optional section is bound to the main datasource, not the secondary repeating table. You'll need to display the optional section separately from the repeating table, and use conditional formatting on the section to hide or show it according to the values in the dropdowns.

Appreciate your response. Your solution will work as an alternative, but my requirement is to show the Optional Section down below each row depending the value selected from drop down. Is there any alternative method you know to implement this way?
